We are seeking a motivated Contract Manager / Contract Specialist with a strong business mindset to join our team.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in project teams, working closely with Project Managers to ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery, maintaining quality, and meeting agreed specifications.
Your leadership and guidance will be essential to optimize commercial prospects and minimize risks.Responsibilities:
- Review project contracts alongside the project team and enhance contractual awareness throughout project execution.
- Collaborate with clients and construction professionals, including site managers, project managers, and site engineers. Collaborate with Nexans legal department when needed.
- Develop a contract and commercial management strategy in consultation with relevant stakeholders, analyzing the contracts.
- Oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of projects, preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Ensure adherence to contract obligations and statutory regulations, upholding quality requirements.
- Monitor changes in project work, handle Variation Orders, disputes, and claims.
- Review and compose correspondence.
- Lead and organize project stakeholders' involvement in contractual and commercial matters to gather pertinent information.
- Assist the project in supplier and subcontract management, including leading negotiations related to material and service sourcing.
- Contribute to the establishment and negotiation of subcontracts and strategic procurements, oversee onsite construction activities, and assess work progress.
- Provide proactive advice on specific issues, risks, contractual/claims activities, aligning with the contract and Nexans' business objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Hold a Post Graduate degree in Law, Engineering, Finance, Technical, Economics, or business sciences.
- Possess at least 5 years of experience in contract or commercial management.
- Ideally, have experience with EPCI contracts and familiarity with major construction contract forms such as FIDIC, NF, NTK, NEC, LOGIC, ORGALIM.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Display sound business judgment, striking a balance between contractual and business priorities, effectively addressing complex contractual challenges, and communicating risks to business partners.
- Comfortable thriving in a fastpaced, dynamic environment, adaptable to shifting priorities.
- Customeroriented mindset with exceptional collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to tackle tasks of varying scale.
- Exhibit a commercial mindset, taking ownership of your commercial and contractual responsibilities.
- Curious and adept at devising solutions for practical issues involving various variables, while maintaining a strong sense of quality and timeliness.
