    In your Professional Sr, Engineering – Material and Process Engineer role, you will:

    1. Provide technical engineering guidance as necessary to designers, structural engineers, technical writers, liaison engineers, customer support, Quality, buyers, and laboratory staff on the applications, properties, and processing of aircraft materials and hardware.
    2. Review and approve engineering drawings, change documentation, certification plans, and release documentation pursuant to technical engineering modifications/specifications for materials in general.
    3. Execute various engineering tasks like the evaluation of different metallic materials, their processes, and limitations.
    4. Prepare various test plans, analyze results, and write certification reports.
    5. Take part in design reviews with internal Product Development Teams and others when requested.
    6. Review production process documents prepared by other functions and recommended for approval.
    7. Prepare, administer, and approve standard technical engineering practices, procedures, design guidelines, and corporate/site-specific standards contained in Bombardier Manuals.
    8. Participate in various R&D projects to improve the environmental footprint of Bombardier Aviation.

    As our ideal candidate:

    1. You have a Bachelor or Masters degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical engineering from an accredited university.
    2. You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in an aerospace/military production environment.
    3. You have a thorough knowledge of aerospace materials with experience in standard hardware and processes used for the manufacture of aircraft.
    4. You are knowledgeable about metallic materials used in the aerospace industry like aluminum, steel, and titanium including knowledge of their corrosion behaviors.
    5. You are knowledgeable about different manufacturing processes like Heat Treatment, Shot Peening, and Surface Treatment of aluminum.
    6. You are familiar with aerospace and military specifications like SAE, AMS, MIL, etc.
    7. You are proficient in engineering design principles and reviewing drawings.
    8. You are adept at solving engineering problems in a high-pressure environment and can deal with complex issues quickly and independently.
    9. You have a pro-active mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    10. You must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with Technical Experts, Professionals, and Technicians on a daily basis.
    11. You have excellent communication skills in English. French will be considered an asset.
    12. You have excellent interpersonal skills and a high sense of commitment.
    13. You are familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    14. You are familiar with Catia V5.
    15. You know the environmental norms (REACH).
