We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our French Leveraged Finance team in the role of
Analyst. The role will be based in Paris, where he/she will be working on French transactions. The team consists of ten leveraged finance specialists and one portfolio manager, based in Paris.

The role of the
Analyst is to contribute to the execution of bespoke lending solutions that support and enhance investments and acquisitions made by private equity firms (Financial Sponsors) of French headquartered companies.

The Leveraged Finance team will originate the financing opportunity and then structure the facilities, oversee the due diligence process, obtain the necessary internal approvals including credit approval and negotiate the legal documentation that enables the arranging of the debt financing to support a
private equity led investment or acquisition.

Main Responsibilities:

Working on the origination and execution of private equity backed transactions across LBOs, Recapitalisations, Refinancings and P2Ps, involving detailed deal structuring, credit and financial analysis
Performing indepth commercial, financial and operational due diligence on target companies incl. analysis of market trends, competition and potential business plans using information obtained from multiple data sources
Building detailed financial models (incl. sensitivity analysis) based on management meetings, calls with financial sponsors and sector research
Preparing syndication marketing materials for loans (e.g. information memorandums, syndication models and lender presentations)
Preparing and participating in deal pitches and executing endtoend client transactions
Reviewing and monitoring the ongoing financial performance of portfolio assets;
Cooperating closely with other departments incl. LAF, M&A, ECM, DCM, and Sector across HSBC globally

Conditions

Excellent analytical and technical skills (credit & financial analysis incl. modelling)
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English essential
Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
Relevant experience through interns of up to 12 years within a front office banking environment is preferable, ideally within Leveraged Finance, M&A or Corporate Finance
Strong teamwork skills
Excellent MS Office skills.
