Description du sujet:

  • The aim of the PhD thesis is to develop image analysis frameworks for investigating periodontal tissues with MOBI. Specifically, we aim to analyze hard and soft periodontal tissues in _ex vivo_ human samples and in mouse models of periodontitis. We further aim to detect nanoparticles that will be used for functional imaging (microvascularization) and for cellular imaging (stem cells as innovative therapy for periodontitis). Because MOBI imaging technique is totally new and because there exists no other imaging technique allowing the diagnosis and monitoring of periodontitis, one of the challenges will be to decipher the imaging semiology of the MOBI images, in collaboration with the dentists involved in the project.
  • This is an interdisciplinary collaborative project that involves 4 labs located in Paris (BRIO), Lyon (CarMeN), Grenoble (Strobe) and Toulouse (Restore). It is expected to have a high clinical impact, as periodontitis is a major public health issue.
Practical information:The student will be based in the Carmen lab in Lyon. Short missions in Grenoble and Toulouse will occur quarterly. The net income is approx.
