ITER is a unique, first of a kind project that aims to demonstrate the technical and scientific feasibility of fusion energy.


Jacobs one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (construction management-as-agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in world's largest fusion reactor.


As construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include balance of plant and the Tokomak itself.

Jacobs is recruiting for a
Construction Manager (F/H) with
at least 7 years of experience to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France.


He/She will be responsible for:
The Construction management Support TCCs Engineer is acting under the Construction Manager Responsibility; his/her action is driven by the Construction Schedule delivery (vs Engineering delivery) for dedicated Contracts as follows:

  • Ensures that the site construction team prioritise safety and leads by example as a safety role model
  • Provides leadership and direction to the site construction team
  • Within a specific plant area the construction supervisor will:
  • Manage all construction contractor activities
  • Manages contractors scope of work through proper identification and management of completions activities
  • Ensures all PIA PIC obligations are clearly defined and are included in the contractors scope of work
  • Ensures all PIA and PIC obligations are clearly defined in the completions management system
  • Ensures full traceability for regulatory compliance requirements
  • Manage cross site support services including scaffolding, lifting and handling
  • Manage contractor activities to ensure timely availability of PTW certification
  • Identifies and manages site risk through mitigation strategies
  • Ensures that the site team are sufficiently resourced to provide safe coordination across the site
  • Prepares daily and weekly construction project management reports to cover all of the site activities
  • Contributes to the development of completions/QC planning and execution.
  • Ensures the construction team supervise contractor activities
  • Review of Quality Control procedures & records (MIP, Manufacturing dossier, NC,...)

Major interfaces:


  • Interface with the Quality Control Specialist and the Material & Logistics Manager
  • Interface with specialists provided by IO for special works
  • CMA construction and completions teams
  • IO Construction contractors
  • ENGAGE site team (existing site coordination contractor)

Here's What You'll Need:

Specific skills**:

  • Leading and embedding a safety culture within the team
  • Construction project management skills
  • Nuclear experience within the construction project management team. Tracking team performance
  • Analysing Information and defining corrective actions
  • Performance Management
  • Progression of roles in Construction Management to give a balanced detailed understanding of the profession
  • Must have construction project management skills
  • More than 5 years of major international (multi$bn) EPC/EPC(m) experience in construction manager roles
  • Fluent in English, with additional French preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with creative solution and problem solving skills
