    Job Description

    You join Mirova's Natural Capital and Private Equity Business Unit as Portfolio Management & Special Operations Director. On the Natural Capital section, where you will be involved as a priority, the strategy is mainly focused on emerging countries on the major themes of agroforestry, regenerative agriculture and the sustainable management of marine resources. You will intervene on investments made mainly in debt (some equity transactions) and from different funds (Land, Ocean and Carbon funds).

    You will participate in maximizing the financial value of these investments by being involved as soon as weak signals appear on these transactions, while protecting Mirova's reputation and preserving the positive developmental impacts of these companies. Your role will also be to disseminate best practices within the business unit when executing new projects. Finally, you will work, probably in a second time, on the levers of value creation of the participations (including raising and financing, and improvement of the operational performance)

    On a daily basis, your missions are to:

  • Conduct, develop and execute restructuring or recovery operations where appropriate, on transactions showing signs of difficulty;
  • maintain a direct link with the investment managers of the different verticals of the business unit and the risk department to identify weak signals as soon as possible;
  • Participate in the development of a macro analysis of sectors or geographies that may have similarities in the type of difficulties encountered and thus be able to give a preliminary opinion on new transactions identified by the business front teams unit;
  • Foster relationships with the Special Operations departments of our counterparts (French banks, Development Financial Institutions, regional investment funds);
  • Leverage the value creation levers of the participations (including fundraising and financing, and improvement of operational performance) in connection with the front teams of each fund.

    You have more than 10 years of experience structuring and executing complex debt financing, especially in emerging markets. You also have significant restructuring and collections experience and a strong network with international funders.

    You are familiar with:
    - The process of executing complex debt and ideally equity (financial / contractual) transactions;
    - Transaction restructuring techniques;
    - Support for participations in their fundraising and financing efforts.

    You have an excellent relationship, you are:
    - Able to manage and resolve conflicts constructively.

    You master English with a level C1. Fluency in Spanish and French is a plus.
