About the opportunity:

We are looking for a
Proces Engineer to identify and lead mid and short
- term projects to make performance breakthroughs in terms of quality, productivity, cost reduction, machine efficiencies, waste reduction while continuously complying with health, safety and environment standards.


The position is part of the Group Innovation team and report to the Head of Fiber Expertise and Pilots Facilities and is located in our R&D center in Pont-Evêque, France (Lyon area).


Your key missions will include:


Coordinate pilot lines activities:


  • Continuously search, test, implement and share new production processes and technics to move towards operational excellence
  • Propose, promote and lead innovative manufacturing processes and technics for new products
  • Identify, prioritize, lead improvement programs (e.g. safety, quality, service, productivity)
  • Document production processes and train operational employees
  • Design and implement trials for various products and/or process changes
  • Participate to investment projects
  • Ensure process follow up with production, maintenance and quality teams
  • Coordinate maintenance activities
  • Keep costs down and within the budget
  • Provide technical support to the plants during the implementation of our developments.

Coordinate of European projects:


  • Coordinate projects with external partner in the field of process improvement (European projects)
  • Monitor ongoing projects, attend management and monitoring meetings, elaborate progress reports on projects and propose action if and when needed
  • Maintain close working relations with relevant national authorities, Member States representatives, and relevant organisations/institutions
  • Produce and disseminate the results of projects at workshops, seminars, and other internal eventsWork closely with internal and external regional and global technical experts and leverage technical expertise/specialty.
  • Documentation of technical report, paper
  • Develop relevant IP to secure ownership of company Innovation Platforms
  • Lead relationships and projects in cooperation with external institutions, including universities, government research departments and private research institutes and associations, including external project funding opportunities.


We are looking for a self-driven and proactive individual with 5 to 8 years experience in a global matrix environment including team management.


Profile:

  • Master's degree in Process, Engineering, Machinery or any related field
  • End-ToEnd Process Understanding
  • Prior knowledge in paper and or other "soft" materials like têxtile is a plus
  • Strong initiative and selfmanagement on priority management effectively, within a challenging industrial and complex matrixial environment
  • Solid verbal, written and presentation skills in English and French
  • Leadership skills and true team player

This position may require some travels to Ahlstrom plants to provide technical support on site.
