Chief Engineering will report to the General Manager to create and execute maintenance to be ultimately responsible for all maintenance aspects, and for safety and equipment projects for the hotel and upkeep of extensive hotel grounds and outbuildings.

The Chief Engineering will manage a team of technicians and ensure risk prevention for equipment and installations, and implement technical and safety procedures, training procedures for the team of technicians and gardeners.

The Chief Engineering will also ensure professional follow-up with all partners and suppliers. He/ She is versatile and can supervise several projects at the same time within the establishment.


_ Required skills and knowledge:
_


  • Has worked as a technician, then Manager and finally Chief Engineering for a hotel
  • Proficiency of technical standards in the luxury hotelrestaurant industry as well as theoretical and practical knowledge of the various building
  • Excellent customer relations skills with demanding highend clientele
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable in workplaces, as well as in ERP
  • Establishment open to the public (hotel and restaurant) and regulations relating to the safety of goods and people
  • Excellent managerial skills: training, managing, and assessing the performance of technician team and gardeners to ensure they fully comply with brand standards
  • Monitoring of investment and maintenance budgets, implementation of performance indicator tracking; submits proposals and costings to the General Manager
  • Source of proposals for all new projects, with the ability to observe and question his/her own experience
  • Participates in company strategy in his/her field of expertise
  • Ensures that the technical operation plan remain in good working order
  • Organizes preventive maintenance for the entire hotel and its outbuildings
  • Ensures technical coordination between external companies and the hotel and supervises external contractors
  • Prepares and submits bidding documents
  • Evaluates the hotel's major suppliers at least once a year
  • Keeps abreast of legislation in the following areas: technical safety, fire safety, accident prevention, compliance with safety code and ensures compliance with current safety regulations
  • Keeps up to date and follow the technical documents required by law
  • Participates, in coordination with the General Manager in implementing the hotel's health and safety policy
  • Guarantees customer experience and satisfaction, in line with our internal quality criteria, while respecting quality deadlines and consistency
  • Trains and assesses team in the quality standards required to deliver the best possible customer experience and quality performance indexes
  • Monitors customer quality results and proposes any improvement measures.

Required experience:


  • At least 5 years' work experience in team management in the engineering field
  • Experience in luxury hotels and preopening experience preferable
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in office software (Excel, Word, Power Point) and communication software (Internet), Adobe Reader
  • Bac +2 level minimum
  • Fluency in English preferred
  • Good level of written and spoken French
