As Financial Controller your main responsibility is to safeguard timely, accurate and complete reporting for the consolidated IFRS figures. You will be driving the monthly closing while collaborating closely together with the financial accountants, the financial controller and the manager Accounting & Reporting. You will be responsible for the more complex reconciliations, analytical reviews and overall quality of figures. Additionally, you will be supporting the year closing and driving improvement projects. Affinity with data and IT structures would be a big plus in this role.

The role will be based in our Amsterdam office, where you will be part of a fun and diverse team with over 35 nationalities

Overall responsibilities

Driving the month end close (on consolidated level) and the wider internal reporting calendar
Establishing analytical reviews and enhanced recurring reconciliations
Improving the overall quality of the figures with the help of additional tools and reports
Safeguarding accounting policies and consistent administrations across the different entities and countries
Supporting in IFRS updates and IFRS implementations
Supporting in safeguarding other compliance in tax and accounting (local GAAP)
Supporting in company wide projects representing Finance
Establishing and driving internal control procedures and improvements
Preparing the consolidated accounts and external audit
Contributing to improving general financial procedures and work practices in a rapidly growing business environment.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is an initiator and takes ownership on tasks assigned. A keen eye for details and critical thinking are of great help in keeping our financial records up to date and accurate.

Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

5+ years relevant experience in as financial controller or similar role;
Master degree in Finance or related area;
Proven experience drafting financial statements and working with IFRS in an international environment;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Experience in structuring and improving data flows;
Fluency in Dutch and English;
Hands on, outgoing and proactive mentality, ability to work independently;
You have a genuine interest in the energy transition and Fastned's mission.
