Job Details:

Through the "Chaining and interoperability" research chair, IRSET aims to strengthen its scientific strategy in the field of environmental health by promoting interdisciplinary research in environmental epidemiology, exposomics and the processing of health databases via the use of innovative methods in machine learning, expology and biostatistics.

This chair is also part of IRSET's attractiveness policy and dynamic of renewal and creation of new teams in innovative disciplinary fields.

The chair holder's scientific project will be integrated into IRSET's research and will address the link between environment and health by focusing on the richness of massive health data available at IRSET and the integration of multiple environmental issues.

Several areas may be proposed, whether on pregnancy, child development or adult health.

The chair holder will actively collaborate with Green Data for Health (GD4H) which currently integrates 127 different national databases, on various themes such as endocrine disruptors, pesticides, air quality, noise or biodiversity.

In this project, particular attention will be paid to the issue of database interoperability, i.e.

the ability to access and process data coming from several sources (here environmental and health) in order to be able to integrate them and give them meaning to guide public action.

IRSET aims to attract outstanding world-class researchers whose accomplishments have had a major impact in their field. This is a three-year position funded by Rennes Metropole, with additional support to conduct research.

The chair holder will join a high-level interdisciplinary team, focused on questions of the use of digital environmental and public health data and integrating methodological approaches from various disciplines including epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, meta-research, geography, analytical chemistry or applied mathematics.

Indicators - Evolution of the Chair

Beyond scientific production, the evolution of the chair holder will be evaluated according to the following criteria: Open Science practices, international networking, grant securing, training by research and supervision, innovation and teaching activities.

In addition to this regular follow-up, in-depth annual evaluation will be carried out to ensure that, at the end of the 3-year period, the chair holder will be appointed to a permanent position of University of Rennes Professor.
