    Description

    Onibi was established in 2023. Our team comprises seasoned industry veterans who embarked on a mission to construct the ultimate UGC (User-Generated Content) MMO open world for exploration and creativity.

    With decades of expertise in online worlds, multiplayer gaming, and innovative platforms, we have previously contributed to some of the most renowned and successful game titles. We meticulously assembled our team to craft something truly extraordinary.

    The project is currently in stealth mode, so there's limited information about us online. We'll make a big splash when the time is right.

    Our work environment mirrors the ethos of old-school game developers, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where everyone can make meaningful contributions at various levels.

    We have garnered support from exceptional venture capitalists from around the globe, and we are determined to deliver an experience that we believe will make a significant impact on the gaming industry.

    Our studio is looking for a Backend Game Developer to be part of our ambitious journey

    Role: Backend Game Developer

    Location: Remote (Candidates must be based in Europe within +/- 2 hours of CET time zone.)

    Start Date: Immediate

    Key Responsibilities:

    • As a Backend Game Developer, you will work as part of a small and autonomous game development team. You will enjoy a creative, challenging and collaborative environment where your ideas will be every bit as valued as your programming expertise.
    • You will be reporting to an experienced Engineering Manager who will mainly focus on mentoring you and supporting your growth plan.
    • You will contribute to the full development life cycle of our new game. You will be involved in all phases: conceptualization, design, development, testing, and release.
    • You will help other developers to grow their skills by providing support and mentorship.

    What we are looking for:

    • Significant experience in development: minimum of 5 years of experience as a developer.
    • Experience with Backend game services like Playfab, EOS, Nakama or others
    • Experience writing online multiplayer games based on Unity
    • Knowledge of Unity and C#
    • Knowledge of multi-threading programming
    • Knowledge of the constraints of Real Time persistent online games.
    • Knowledge of cost limitation and data compression for Online Games.
    • At least one of: Knowledge of the Go language and bindings generation, networking, shell scripts, Docker, DevOps, or LiveOps experience is a huge plus
    • Self-motivation: highly autonomous & working capabilities.
    • Communication & Team work: Excellent communication and organization skills, team spirit, proactivity. Active involvement in the game creation process by interacting with the rest of the team. Be able to interact at different stages of an asset production, from conception to implementation and animation. Desire to learn.
    • Excellent spoken and written communication skills (English)
    • Open to learning new technologies and leaving your comfort zone
