    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to work with a global engineering company delivering solutions for a carbon-neutral future.

    The Process Engineer will be involved in the project which aims to produce 11,000 tonnes per year of renewable (2nd generation biomethane) and low-carbon gas through a pyrogasification/methanation process from dry biomass from local wood-waste and solid recovered fuels (SRF) sectors.

    The job holder will be responsible for coordinating all studies related to the production and treatment of syngas (Syngas) (presence of metals, acids, tars, etc.) and studies related to the treatment of gaseous effluents produced on the site. The engineer will be functionally attached to the lead process engineer.

    The process engineer is expected to have two skills:

    • Technical: the engineer will have a critical technical eye on the deliverables produced by the external engineering and will comment on them. The engineer will also be responsible for answering the question and answer sheets related to his or her scope of study and will participate in all clarification meetings concerning his or her scope (workshops, PID reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, etc.). Finally, the engineer will be responsible for being a source of proposals to optimize the process diagrams as well as possible
    • Organizational: the engineer's mission will be to coordinate the studies related to his or her scope, to manage the interfaces with the other technical disciplines and to initiate all the necessary actions to ensure the progress of the project in order to respect the study schedule.

    Required skills and experience:

    • Degre in engineering school specialising in chemical engineering
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering in industry, Oil & Gas, Gasification of solid fuels (Wood B, SRF), and/or chemistry.
    • Core competencies include syngas production technologies, as well as syngas purification and off-gas treatment.
    • Mastery of process simulation software such as HYSYS/UNISIM is required.
    • Professional fluency in French and English is essential.
    • Strong teamwork skills, excellent written and oral communication and proactivity are imperative to exchange effectively with other technical professions, with suppliers and with the engineering in charge of the studies.

    In addition, an interest in the production of low-carbon energy coupled with rigor and a pragmatic sense are also qualities expected for this position.
