About this opportunity:


We are building a new R&D team in Massy, France, including a Standards & Technology unit, part of Development Unit Networks' global Standards & Technology organization.

At Development Unit Networks Standards & Technology we secure technology leadership in Radio Access Networks (RAN) by actively driving New Concepts, Standardization, SW- and HW Research, Architecture and Testbeds.

Technical focus includes 5G evolution, Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), IoT, Automation / Machine Learning and Security.

Are you a passionate and experienced NTN / RAN expert ready to contribute, as the Telecom and Aeronautics industry come together? Do you want lead and innovate, and look at how to bring resilient 5G connectivity everywhere on the planet - on land, at sea and in flight, by extending the 5G terrestrial network with LEO satellite communication? We are looking for a new colleague to join our innovation
- and collaboration activities in the emerging area of 5G NTN.


We offer you to join our high-profile RAN expertise team, where we set the strategic technology agenda, conduct research studies, and build proof of concepts in new and strategic areas of mobile communication.


You will collaborate in a cross-organizational team and have opportunities to work with top industry researchers and external partners on the latest technologies.


You are a System Architect with solid expertise in radio network and telecommunication systems, and NTN (LEO / MEO / GEO satellites, ).


What you will do:

-
Drive thought leadership, exploratory studies and applied research in our 5G/6G NTN testbed with a pro-active hands-on approach,
-
Initiate & drive technical analysis studies,
develop IPR and patents contribution,
contribute to R&D and product strategies, write system requirements, and
lead topics that require industry alignment with customers and industry partners,
-
Collaborate with other radio and system architects and other research experts
-
Act as an evangelizer by contributing expertise and experimental learnings in emerging 5G/6G NTN related technologies,
-
Share your knowledge through technical presentations and scientific publications, and provide technical guidance to peers, management, partners and customers.


To be successful, you need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Expertise in telecom RAN (layer 1 /layer 2), including scheduling
  • RF competences: FR1 and FR2 spectrum knowledge, radio technology, Doppler, dimensioning of multi antenna systems, beam forming, OFDM, MU-MIMO and beam management, link budget analysis
  • Good RAN competences: 3GPP NR & NTN specifications, performance dimensioning, timing advance and synchronization, transport technology, Low Layer Split (LLS), NR signaling & scheduling of data & user planes, handover mechanisms
  • Knowledge in telecom space system and in particular NGSO satellite systems (MEO and LEO)
  • Understanding of space hardening constraints for telecom equipments, HW/SW partitioning and general system breakdown

In addition, you have:


  • Excellent drive and ability to execute
  • Excellent networking, collaboration, communication, influencing and innovation skills with high energy and motivation
  • University degree: PhD, or MSc/equivalent
  • Fluent English language skills in both writing and conversation. French language skills are a plus.
