Description de la mission

The Laboratory Manager contributes to provide performant Industrial lubricants (metalworking fluids, maintenance lubricant and surface specialties) to MotulTech customers, in overseeing the laboratory activities in France, managing fluid-in-service analysis and leading Product R&D activities.

Key responsibilities

Leads the laboratory activities in France:

Sets the organization of the laboratory and ensure the proper functioning

Manages the day-to-day activities with a permanent focus on quality and cost-control

Leads the team, providing guidance, training and coaching

Ensures that lab procedures and safety instructions are properly applied

Conducts any ad hoc projects as requested

Coordinate activities with R&D Automotive, in the context of a shared laboratory.

Fluid-in-service support :

Manages priorities and ensure a right level of service and support is provided to MotulTech commercial organisation, customers and distributors, in France and abroad

Ensures that MotulTech Fluid-in service analysis offer meets commitment, and is provided on-time in-full

Defines and provide ad-hoc analysis or technical survey to lead product improvements or problem solving

Identify product quality issues, root causes and provide recommendations. If required participate to production meetings, quality meetings or customer visits

Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders (Product managers, Sales team, Customers and distributors).

R&D activities:

Works closely with the head of MotulTech R&D and product managers to lead new product developments

Manages R&D task and project prioritie

Contributes to MotulTech innovation in developing constantly new knowledge in chemistry, applications and new technologies, liaising with raw material suppliers and other R&D Lab of Motul group.

Profil

Education / Qualification: Degree in Chemistry.

Experience needed: +5 years experience in product development laboratory Broad experience in industrial lubricants.

Language:

French: proficiency needed

English: proficiency needed

IT Knowledge:

Proficiency in the use of the MS 365

Knowledge of SAP, LIMS

Ability to learn new systems quickly

Market & Business knowledge

Metalworking applications

Industrial oil environment

Business understanding
