I am currently assisting a IT consultancy company who is working with a leading French bank in the search for a highly skilled (MQ Series) Mainframe Engineer who will play a critical role in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of IBM MQ Series on mainframe systems.
This position demands strong technical skills in MQ Series, a solid understanding of mainframe environments, and the ability to work collaboratively with various IT and business teams to maintain a robust messaging infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ Series on mainframe systems.
Monitor MQ performance and implement tuning measures to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability.
Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and maintenance to keep MQ environments up to date.
Troubleshoot and resolve MQ-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system functionality.
Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices for MQ environments.
Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis to support current and future business needs.
Implement and manage system security measures to protect MQ data and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to provide technical support and solutions.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for MQ configurations, procedures, and operations.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
