    Job Description:

    TheDirector of MMIC Design Engineering will lead all product research anddevelopment efforts within the MACOM European Semiconductor Centre (MESC) andwill be responsible for leading a team of engineers who will develop leadingedge products while meeting project timelines. A key focus of the role isto provide strong technical leadership along with effective project management.
    Thesuccessful individual will have a strong technical knowledge and have ademonstrated history of leading engineering teams in the development of microwaveand millimeter-wave integrated circuited using Gallium Arsenide (GaAs), GalliumNitride (GaN), Silicon Germanium (SiGe) or Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI)technologies.
    The candidatewill drive the development of new IP, the feasibility studies, the selection ofintegrated circuit architectures, the design execution and schedules as well ascoordinate with other cross-functional team during the various developmentphases from device concept to production release. The candidate will alsoprovide mentorship and work with individual contributors and managers ondefining goals for career development and growth.

    Responsibilities:

  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent for the R&D organization, while motivating the development team to continually improve their performance.
  • Partner with our Fab and Operations team to ensure new MMIC designs are released into production meeting yield, cost, and quality targets.
  • Help establish and manage the R&D yearly operating budget.
  • Keep up with industry/technology direction and trends and support product line in developing a portfolio of products that are differentiated and provide competitive advantage for the company.
  • Work jointly with marketing/quality teams to resolve product technical issues during and after customer design in and work with customers as needed.

    • DesiredSkills and Experience:

  • PhD or master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in R&D within global company that develops and manufactures high frequency integrated circuits for microwave and millimeter wave applications.
  • In-depth understanding of high frequency semiconductor circuit design fundamentals.
  • Experience with the applications of high frequency integrated circuits – communications, radar, etc.
  • Demonstrated capability to drive teams to successful product introduction through best-in-class execution.
    Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Demonstrated capability to attract and retain talent.

    Le directeur de l'ingénierie de conception MMIC dirigera tous les efforts de recherche et de développement de produits au sein du Centre européen des semi-conducteurs de MACOM (MESC) et sera responsable de la direction d'une équipe d'ingénieurs qui développeront des produits de pointe tout en respectant les délais des projets. L'un des principaux objectifs de ce poste est d'assurer un leadership technique fort ainsi qu'une gestion de projet efficace.

    La personne retenue possède de solides connaissances techniques et a démontré sa capacité à diriger des équipes d'ingénieurs dans le développement de circuits intégrés hyperfréquences et ondes millimétriques utilisant les technologies de l'arséniure de gallium (GaAs), du nitrure de gallium (GaN), du silicium-germanium (SiGe) ou du silicium sur isolant (SOI).

    Le candidat dirigera le développement de nouvelles propriétés intellectuelles, les études de faisabilité, la sélection des architectures de circuits intégrés, l'exécution de la conception et les calendriers, ainsi que la coordination avec d'autres équipes interfonctionnelles au cours des différentes phases de développement, depuis la conception du dispositif jusqu'à la mise en production. Le candidat assurera également le mentorat et travaillera avec les collaborateurs individuels et les responsables à la définition des objectifs de développement de carrière et de croissance.

    Responsabilités:

  • Attirer, développer et retenir les meilleurs talents pour l'organisation R&D, tout en motivant l'équipe de développement à améliorer continuellement ses performances.
  • Travailler en partenariat avec notre équipe de fabrication et des opérations pour s'assurer que les nouvelles conceptions MMIC sont mises en production en respectant les objectifs de rendement, de coût et de qualité.
  • Contribuer à l'établissement et à la gestion du budget de fonctionnement annuel de la R&D.
  • Se tenir au courant des orientations et des tendances de l'industrie et de la technologie et aider la ligne de produits à développer un portefeuille de produits qui se différencient et procurent un avantage concurrentiel à l'entreprise.
  • Travailler conjointement avec les équipes de marketing/qualité pour résoudre les problèmes techniques liés aux produits pendant et après la conception par le client et collaborer avec les clients si nécessaire.

    • Compétences et expérience souhaitées:

  • Doctorat ou master en génie électrique ou équivalent.
  • Minimum de 15 ans d'expérience en R&D au sein d'une entreprise internationale qui développe et fabrique des circuits intégrés à haute fréquence pour des applications micro-ondes et ondes millimétriques.
  • Compréhension approfondie des principes fondamentaux de la conception de circuits semi-conducteurs à haute fréquence.
  • Expérience des applications des circuits intégrés à haute fréquence - communications, radar, etc.
  • Capacité avérée à conduire des équipes à l'introduction réussie de produits grâce à une exécution de premier ordre.
  • Solides compétences en communication orale et écrite en français et en anglais.
  • Capacité avérée à attirer et à retenir les talents.
