    Description

    DNV's Market & Transaction team is looking for a Senior Consultant specialized in power price forecasting for the French and European markets. DNV is undergoing a strong expansion in power price forecasting throughout Europe and is looking to reinforce its current team with headquarters in Madrid. The candidate will be integrated with a young and high-powered team that has a clear mandate to grow in terms of market coverage and scope of work. The position will be based in Paris, France.

    DNV's power price forecasting activity is structured around a set of internal processes and tools that combine a fundamental approach (dispatch models) with statistical and artificial intelligence methods that aim to understand and replicate the market agents' interaction with the different power and ancillary services markets.

    The responsibilities of the Senior Consultant will cover:

  • French Electricity Day-ahead Market Price Modelling: Market trends (expansion plan, commodities). Scenario analysis (climate, electrical vehicle, distributed and self-consumption). Medium- and long-term forecast. Webservice feeding.
  • Refinement of the tools and models to reach excellence in long-term power price forecasting.
  • Market Intelligence: big data, data mining, energy markets analysis, weekly reporting.
  • Interaction with European teams, since the French model is deeply connected to neighbouring countries.
  • Interact with consulting teams in order to ensure perfect delivery of consulting projects. Market analysis (quantitative and regulatory). Market price forecasts (Wholesale, Capacity, Stabilized price, Ancillary Services). Revenue analysis, associated risks. Any other TaylorMade analysis.
  • Interaction with clients before, during and after consulting projects.

    • Essential requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering (or other relevant discipline).
  • Software knowledge in programming languages (Python, VBA) and SQL.
  • Strong experience/knowledge in Energy Market analysis.
  • Fluency in French and English (both verbal and written).
