Description
Quandela is a leader in the development and commercialization of quantum computers based on the manipulation of single photons.
We are seeking a full-time (permanent contract) Research Engineer to participate in the development of Quandela's sources of entangled-photons.
We leverage the spin degree of freedom of charged quantum dots to mediate spin-photon, photon-photon and remote spin-spin entanglement.
You will join the research team paving the way to use these emitters as resource-state generators for photonic quantum computing. You will contribute to the research roadmap of Quandela by exploring schemes to create one-dimensional linear cluster states from the charged state of a quantum dots in micropillar cavities. You will also be responsible for characterizing and optimizing the system's properties to increase the fidelity of the resource states. Your results will influence the research strategy for next-generation production devices as well as advancing the field of quantum emitters. The candidate must be highly skilled in experimental optics and have experience in the field of quantum emitters.
Responsibilities
· Build and operate custom setups to address and characterize charged quantum dots at cryogenic temperatures.
· Implement advanced picosecond-pulse shaping and pulse sequences.
· Manipulate spin states using applied fields or all-optical approached .
· Propose strategies to improve output state fidelities, by improving both the device and the manipulation.
· Implement a research roadmap and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
· Systematically document the results and report your findings (including scientific publications and participation in international conferences).
· Collaborate with the production teams to transfer successful results.
Requirements
Master degree or higher in a relevant topic, and 3 years' experience (including PhD) in a research laboratory.
