Job Description:
The Data and Analytics Platform team is looking for a Data Platform engineer who will help us design and maintain the technologies that will link a diverse set of users, including data scientists and actuaries, across the whole enterprise.
This core component, which has users throughout our whole organization, facilitates the delivery of crucial business operations as well as advanced analytics and end-user reporting.
Ideally you combine a profound interest in multiple technologies, and therefore offer a wide range of skills, rather than being a specialist in a single topic.
About the role:
Your will be responsible for the following duties:
- Maintain the cloud R Platform projects including Docker images, CI/CD pipelines and other cloud services.
- Participate in the further development of the Data and Analytics Platform.
- Provide and establish best practices to the R Development community.
- Strengthen synergies with other IT departments.
- Assist with the continued integration of the cloud infrastructure into the overall Data and Analytics Platform.
Qualifications:
About you:
- Bachelor ́s degree in Computer Science or a related science/engineering.
- You have three or more years of relevant experience.
- You have strong experience in developing in generalpurpose languages (Python, R).
- You are familiar with SQL and database concepts
- You have a deep understanding of the Linux/GNU operating system: Process handling, memory management and IO devices.
- You can create and maintain:
- Declarative CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or similar).
- Complex docker images: Nested images, efficient layering, container networking and many volumes.
- Infrastructure as code projects (Ansible playbooks or similar).
- You have previous experience with any of the major public cloud providers.
- You can communicate clearly with a broad range of professionals with varying technical knowledge.
- You have basic networking skills: Firewalling, packet forwarding and proxying.
About you:
