- Support Accounting Manager in preparation and file various tax returns, including corporate income tax, value-added tax (VAT), and other indirect taxes, in accordance with French tax laws and deadlines.
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and ensure the organization's tax practices remain up-to-date and in compliance.
- Calculate and record tax provisions, deferred taxes, and any tax-related adjustments in the financial statements. Statutory Financial Reporting:
- Support Accounting Manager to prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with French statutory accounting principles (French Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - GAAP).
- Produce financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, following French reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate closing procedures, ensuring all financial information is properly reported. Compliance:
- Managing DOA and SOX documentation, ensure good level of internal control audits. Ensuring adequate audit preparation and timely responses, no major or repeat gaps and active follow-up and on-time closure of identified gaps. Ensure appropriate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. Implement a policy clarifying format, content, and frequency of reconciliations as well as appropriate follow-up for reconciling or adjusting items. External Audits and Regulatory Compliance:
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual financial audits and tax inspections, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and assist with tax audits and assessments.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, such as those set forth by the Autorité des Normes Comptables (ANC) in France. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, such as finance, legal, and operations, to gather financial data and ensure alignment with tax and accounting requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on tax-related matters, such as the tax implications of new projects or transactions. Compliance Advisory:
- Advise internal stakeholders on tax-efficient strategies while ensuring compliance with French tax regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate potential impacts to relevant stakeholders. Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (Expert-Comptable) in France is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of French tax laws, accounting principles, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Previous experience in tax compliance and statutory accounting, preferably with a focus on French taxation.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
